Welcome to Holme Valley Heavy Horses

Holme Valley Heavy Horses is a specialist heavy horse heritage center based in Honley, near Holmfirth in West Yorkshire. Most will know the area as Summer Wine country. We offer heavy horse experience days, carriage rides, horse breaking and training, mobile horse livery and heavy horses informational days.

Our horsemen and shires have earned a firm reputation for being a reliable and trustworthy partnership. The team have featured on BBC radio, BBC Look North News and worked on numerous period TV dramas including, Death Comes To Pemberley, The Mill and Peaky Blinders. Why not come along to one of our experience days and meet the personalities?  If you would like to experience life working with heavy horses, we can provide an opportunity to get close to a real working shire. We know you will love your day because our feedback is always fantastic
